Outside Scholarships

Scholarship funding, tuition benefits, and other resources intended to cover your annual estimated cost of attendance from organizations other than Cornell are commonly referred bluebet appto as "outside scholarships." Outside scholarships are awarded separately from federal, state, and Cornell financial aid often based on specific criteria determined independently by the outside organization.

All outside scholarships, tuition benefits, and other resources must be reported to the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.

When you receive an outside scholarship, we will reevaluate your financial aid offer:

  • Outside scholarship funding will reduce self-help aid (student loans or work-study) dollar-for-dollar, until no self-help aid remains.
  • Outside scholarship funding that exceeds total self-help bluebet sportsbookaid will reduce Cornell grant or scholarship aid dollar-for-dollar.
  • Outside scholarship funding cannot be used to reduce your expected family contribution assigned by Cornell.
  • In rare circumstances, Cornell may be required to reduce federal, state, or other grants and scholarships to comply with applicable rules/regulations.
